We are looking for an
Associate Legal Counsel - EMEA
In your role as Associate Legal Counsel in the EMEA region, you will assist in various corporate and legal matters for a globally focused Medical Device corporation. You will prepare, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts and provide advice and counsel to our various business functions, including Clinical, Sales, Marketing, Compliance, and IT. You should have a high degree of independence, be able to adapt to changing priorities, and work under tight deadlines. We are looking for a positive, passionate, and open-minded collaborator to join our EMEA Legal & Compliance team.
The position will reside within our Terumo Neuro Entity in Düsseldorf, Germany.
What are your main responsibilities?
- Perform contract-related activities, including negotiating and drafting agreements such as clinical trial agreements, consulting agreements, distribution agreements, master service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Create, maintain, and/or update contract templates.
- Provide advice and counsel on various types of legal support to solve specific issues, including management of preliminary work and active negotiation, drafting, and follow-up.
- Work closely with the Company's various business units, including Clinical, Sales, Marketing, Compliance, and IT, to support their contract and advice needs.
- Assist with GDPR matters, including assessment and drafting processes and agreements.
- Complete special projects as requested and participate in Legal Department initiatives and development.
What will you bring in?
- A Postgraduate University Diploma in Law.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-organized and autonomous work attitude in the organization of duties assigned.
- Good responsiveness to priorities, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter personality with the ability to function in an individual contributor role as well as in the capacity of counselor to others.
- Strong English language skills (business nomenclature).
- Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or other healthcare business (highly desirable).
