Head of Finance

A fast-growing, multi-channel e-commerce business in Berlin is looking for a commercially driven and hands-on Head of Finance to lead the finance function and support the next phase of scale.

The business has built a strong ecosystem including its own consumer brands, a subscription model, digital content, and education products. With 30% year-over-year growth and a planned exit within the next few years, this role offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of a high-potential, founder-led company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build out financial reporting, forecasting, and KPI tracking to drive strategic insights
2. Manage and develop the finance team (currently 2 bookkeepers)
3. Oversee cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning
4. Prepare investor and board reporting with a focus on transparency and clarity
5. Support future M&A opportunities, including due diligence and integration
6. Work closely with external accountants (DATEV used) to ensure financial hygiene
7. Act as a thought partner to the founders, supporting high-impact business decisions
8. Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial processes

What We’re Looking For:

1. Experience in fast-scaling, founder-led businesses is essential
2. Background in e-commerce is a strong advantage but not a requirement
3. Comfortable in lean, fast-paced environments where structure is still being built
4. Able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational finance
5. Experience with M&A, investor reporting, or exit preparation is a plus
6. Familiar with DATEV or comparable financial systems
7. Proactive, hands-on, and able to work with a high degree of autonomy
