A vacancy for a Safety and Reliability Engineer (m/f/d) in the Urban Air Mobility team has arisen in Donauwörth.

The position will be offered within the new Airbus Urban Mobility GmbH conditions and salary policy.

Your Role

You will be part of the UAM Engineering team within the start-up like entity Airbus Urban Mobility GmbH. AUM GmbH has been set up as the central entrepreneur of the UAM organization within the Group and acts as the program for the eVTOL development as well as the system integrator for UAM. In that context, it covers the pillars vehicle, take-off & landing infrastructure and (unmanned) traffic management to prepare the integration in cities and future commercial passenger operations.

In close relationship with UAM project team, architects and designers, you will execute all aspects related to Safety & reliability for the UAM Vehicle and you will perform safety analysis at all level in order to:

1. Check design characteristics to reach safety performance
2. Support the systems installation inside the aircraft to reduce risks of cascading failure, fire or risks in case of collision with birds.
3. Drive design and architectures to secure programs success
4. Define, if needed, recommendation to modify the flight manual for operational safety
5. Challenge components and system suppliers to ensure a design fulfilling safety / reliability requirement
6. Support demonstration to official services (EASA) that safety objectives of the regulation are met in order to contribute to the certification.
7. Support the airworthiness and project team in the design choice and certification strategy

Your Qualifications and Skills

We expect you to have the following qualifications and experience:

1. System design or architecture knowledge and willingness to discover another way to manage system evolution
2. > 3 years experience in Safety & Reliability
3. Aviation architecture knowledge with willingness to discover system design
4. Knowledge about certification processes and standards
5. University degree (master / diploma) in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent
6. Analysis and Synthesis skills
7. Open mindedness, team spirit (e.g. service culture) and innovation attitude
8. Structured orientation / working style
9. Willingness to discover technical aspects
10. Delivery attitude (content, time, quality, cost)
11. Rigor and Follow-standards orientation
12. Very good English Language knowledge Business fluent in writing and speaking
13. Good German Language Knowledge in writing and speaking (is of advantage)
14. Readiness to be locally available in Donauwörth workplace
