What you will work on

At FERNRIDE, we call the team that provides most of the services and infrastructure, as well as verification efforts, the Engineering and Verification Ecosystems (EVE) team. As the foundation of Fernride engineering, the EVE team is poised to build the most productive engineering team in the world with an engineering system that scales robust cloud platforms and world-class verification. From source management to deploying to vehicles across different yards, from distributed building/testing to orchestrating container-based integration tests in the cloud, and from customizing and installing OSs and firmware to building CLI and web services and applications, we have it all covered.

We are currently seeking an Autonomous and Teleoperation System Test Engineer (f/d/m) to join our growing team in Germany. The ideal candidate is hands-on with our system, eager to expand our test catalog, automate using scripting languages, and collaborate closely with developers. This role requires a tech-savvy professional with a proactive attitude and in-depth understanding of how technology can help us achieve our business goals.

How you will leave your footprint

• Design, develop, implement, and manage test plans for new projects and software developments in close collaboration with developers
• Execute test cases and scenarios in real-world conditions across different environments and locations
• Create tooling and automations to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness
• Utilize various test environments (HIL Simulation), vehicles, and testing tools effectively
• Coordinate with developers, system engineers, and project managers to understand system requirements and specify tests
• Document issues thoroughly to ensure anomalies are properly addressed and tested
• Provide regular updates on test progress, anomalies, and risks to the team

What you will bring to the team

• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Strong system testing skills; test automation capabilities are a plus
• Software testing skills are a plus
• Understanding of Linux internals; ROS2 experience is a plus
• Experience with software development projects and release cycles
• Experience working on large software systems
• Proven track record in requirement-based testing is a plus
