Automotive Engineering Lab (AEL) is rapidly expanding, focusing on advanced automotive technologies across multiple domains.

We are seeking a skilled candidate for our UXUI Team, focusing on the intelligent cockpit system and enhancing user experiences for AI-powered conversational features.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive digital interface design (GUI) and voice interaction/conversational UI designs (VUI/CUI), including content definition, front-end system UI interactions, and UI design, with a user-centric approach. Collaboration with global UX teams and development communities is essential. The role involves working on future vehicle HMI design trends, AI UX, and product innovations in Vehicle Intelligent Cockpit.

Your mission

  • Identify and define UXUI opportunities in AI-enabled in-car HMI systems, considering user value, technological trends, and competitor analysis.
  • Innovate and incubate UX features, advocate for user experience, and drive ideas through R&D processes, inspiring multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Translate technical frameworks into user-friendly experiences and improve interface usability.
  • Create high-quality design concepts, including user flows, wireframes, UI prototypes, storytelling demos/videos, and presentation materials, either individually or leading small teams.
  • Collaborate with UX and R&D teams at headquarters.
  • Mentor junior designers within the team.

Your areas of expertise/experience

  • Master’s or higher degree in UX/UI design, HMI/HCI, product design, multimedia design, or related fields.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Automotive HMI or consumer product UI design.
  • Experience with voice interaction or AI-related UI design, understanding AI technology capabilities.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI design on real products or pre-development projects, with clear problem-solving approaches.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma, video prototyping tools like After Effects, interactive demo tools like ProtoPie, and presentation tools like PowerPoint.
  • Experience in building interactive demos and conducting user testing is preferred.
  • Experience with generative AI tools for design is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for working in an international team and fluent in English; Mandarin is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to China (~20%).
