Work Environment
Our department is responsible for the development of in-vehicle zone controllers – from requirements definition through design and diagnostics to security, functional safety, and regulatory compliance. We manage external partners, support testing activities, and ensure the release of control units. In doing so, we work closely with various specialist departments and actively shape the electronic architecture of the future.
Job Purpose / Role
- Develop and design hardware components and system architectures for automotive electronics
- Derive and implement system- and component requirements based on overall vehicle specifications and norms
- Create and align technical specifications, including requirement and functional documents
- Read and review schematics
- Support placement studies and PCB layout optimization
- Manage and evaluate suppliers and external development partners
- Ensure compliance with technical, cost, legal and timeline targets
- Plan and coordinate release milestones and validation activities
- Coordinate technical alignment with internal departments (e.g. production, quality, procurement) and international stakeholders
- Support resource planning and function allocation by collecting performance and system requirements (e.g. DMIPS, RAM, ROM, safety, security, interfaces) and mapping them to system partitions
Key Requirements / Skills / Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field
- Several years of professional experience in automotive electronics development
- Extensive experience in hardware architecture, system design, and RF technologies
- Proficient in reading schematics and understanding PCB layout principles
- Hands‑on experience with tools such as Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent EDA tools
- Experience in international project coordination and system adaptation
- Familiarity with different development methods and cross‑functional collaboration
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Fluent in English (mandatory)
- Experience with system safety concepts, industry security standards (e.g. ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434), or related areas is a plus
