Plant Controller (f/m/d)

Plant Controller (f/m/d) – Saalfeld

Baxter invites experienced finance professionals to support plant operations in Saalfeld, Germany. The role focuses on cost and budget management, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of annual plant budgets, providing periodic performance feedback to adjust plans and budgets.
• Coordinate annual plant standard cost recalculations and variation reporting, preparing recommendations for action.
• Provide plant and divisions with accurate, timely financial data, including margin analysis, margin improvement projects, inventory management, and spend controls.
• Evaluate and assess capital spending and justify investments via CPA/CPJ analysis.
• Partner with plant functions to analyze and support investments and new business initiatives.
• Provide oversight of all plant‑related GAAP, SOX, and Baxter policy requirements.
• Plan, prepare, and supervise finance projects.

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent). CPA and MBA preferred.
• 9+ years of experience in cost and budgeting, with a focus on standard costing, budget management, and capital analysis.
• Experience with SAP FI/CO, MM, PP, and SAP Analysis for Office.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Proven track record of identifying and implementing change; effective communication at all organizational levels.
• Experience in a global, matrixed organization and with Lean concepts and tools (preferred).
• Capability to develop business cases for change and manage indirect reporting relationships.
