Head of Accounting and Consolidation — This exciting opportunity is for an experienced professional to lead a critical function within the CFO's organization, managing a sizeable team and overseeing German GAAP accounting, group consolidation, and IFRS compliance. Location: Hamburg – Hybrid (3 Days in the office)

Required Skills and Experience

• Qualified ACA or ACCA, or equivalent.
• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS, DE GAAP, and HGB standards.
• Over 10 years of experience managing similar functions in large organizations.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams across multiple regions.
• Affinity for digital tools and experience with AI in the finance environment.
• Track record of delivering value to large-scale, complex businesses.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an integrative approach to driving change.
• Fluency in German and English is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Accounting and Consolidation function, managing a team of approximately 50 employees.
• Oversee German GAAP accounting, group accounting, and statutory audits.
• Manage group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliation and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
• Support executive and senior management teams with meaningful financial data for decision-making.
• Oversee the implementation and optimization of systems such as SAP.
• Drive the digitalization and automation of accounting processes.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and monitor the effectiveness of implemented measures.
• Collaborate with internal departments, stakeholders, and external auditors to ensure compliance and alignment with business goals.
