Senior Process Engineer – Chemical Plant Engineering (m/f/d)

Your Role
In this senior position, you will oversee the entire process-engineering scope of sophisticated plant engineering projects. You will act as a key interface between internal disciplines, external partners, and specialist departments—ensuring seamless coordination, technical quality, and forward-looking planning.
- Leading complex plant engineering projects, including concept development and feasibility studies
- Driving process planning in accordance with state-of-the-art technologies
- Working closely with internal technology teams on core proprietary technologies
- Preparing, reviewing, and validating process engineering documentation
- Defining trade-specific requirements and ensuring clear communication within the project team
- Coordinating and managing external engineering partners and internal project contributors
- Reviewing technical documentation from internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring quality and performance of engineering deliverables
- Contributing to process safety discussions and developing standards for safety-critical topics
- Preparing technical documentation for construction and operating permits
- Supporting project management in planning, controlling, and risk evaluation
- Providing on-site support during plant commissioning at client or company locations
What You Bring
- A relevant technical degree (Master’s/Diploma), ideally in chemical or process engineering
- 10–15 years of professional experience in chemical plant engineering or the chemical industry
- Proven experience in conceptual planning and in leading external partners
- Business‑fluent German skills (general, business, and technical terminology)
- Solid economic understanding and a pragmatic, project‑oriented mindset
- Proficiency with P&ID and calculation tools (ideally AutoCAD Plant 3D and Aspen+)
- Profound knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., Pressure Equipment Directive, Machinery Directive)
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project needs
- Residence in Germany and willingness to be on‑site in Erlangen at least once per week
