Your Tasks:

  1. As the Legal Director, you will be the key contact for legal matters across OPEA, including our small- to medium-scale partnering & transactions business.
  2. Act as a steering member of the OPEA Senior Management Team.
  3. Manage team performance to ensure efficiency and quality in a high-performance environment.
  4. Operate strategically, responsibly, and economically, impacting both legal processes and OPEA operations.
  5. Serve as Senior Legal Counsel to the OPEA Board and business, coordinating legal support through your teams.
  6. Cover Board Office, Corporate & Partnering Law topics.
  7. Handle Regulatory and Real Estate law.
  8. Draft and review agreements, tenders, and commercial documents.
  9. Provide legal counsel on regulatory compliance, licensing, and new project development.
  10. Negotiate contracts and develop standard legal documents.
  11. Support claim management and dispute resolution processes.
  12. Manage external legal advisors, ensuring cost-effective governance and support.
  13. Oversee legal processes, reporting, and responsibilities efficiently.
  14. Manage OPEA's small-medium partnering and transactions, coordinating larger transactions with RWE group M&A functions.
  15. Host the OPEA-Compliance function.
  16. Collaborate closely with RWE stakeholders, including Group General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Your Profile:

  • University degree in law with distinction.
  • Several years of relevant experience, ideally with consulting background.
  • Solid experience in Corporate and Partnering Law, renewables, and project structuring.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and standardization skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and decision-making procedures.
  • Knowledge of business models, regulatory, and technical developments and their implications.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Fluent in English; German skills are an advantage.
