To strengthen our Technical Services team within Tobacco Technology Development Center in Trier, we are looking for a Technical Services Manager (m / f / d) for three years.

As a Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and specifying primary processing parameters for product prototyping and later commercial manufacturing, including scale-up and roll-out of new process technologies for Conventional and Reduced Risk Products, hence contributing to the implementation of newly developed products.

  • Set up and provision of primary processing parameters and specifications for Conventional and Reduced Risk Products and process control to R&D and GSC to ensure product quality and consistency for prototype and commercial manufacturing in respective factories.
  • Qualify new and upgraded primary processing lines and individual equipment in JTI factories for commercial production based on established process requirements, parameters, and specifications.
  • Scale up and roll out new primary processing technologies to enhance current product quality and the implementation of newly developed products.
  • Cooperate with GSC by designing new lines with providing respective processing requirements, specifications, and support for process control in JTI factories.
  • Provide support in technical solving (i.e., pre or startup production for new or modified blends) to ensure product quality in JTI factories and licensees.
  • Optimize the manufacturing process through the analysis of process data to improve the quality and further development of the primary process.

Your profile :

  • Relevant educational background: University degree (Bachelor or higher) preferably in Engineering or equivalent education.
  • Practical experience: At least 5 years of business practice in the tobacco industry (or FMCG industry) in an international environment.
  • Valuable knowledge: Preferably sound knowledge of the primary processing, as well as experience in production processes i.e., filter and cigarette manufacturing / Good knowledge of SQL, VBA programming in Excel, and most common PC software applications.
  • Special strengths: Excellent analytical skills and technical understanding / Fluent in English both written and spoken; additional foreign language is a plus.
  • Suitable personality: Well-developed management and communication skills as well as team-oriented / Willingness to travel and flexible.
  • Practiced working time model: Flextime.
