(Senior) Robotics Engineer – Solution Design (m/f/d)

About the role

The AI team at Agile Robots is seeking a dedicated Senior Robotics Engineer with experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) processes. You are expected to have at least 5 years of experience in the field, demonstrating proficiency in the mechanical design, simulation, and analysis of industrial production solutions. This position focuses on optimizing the design of robotic workcells, so prior hands-on experience in this area would be a significant plus.

Your Responsibilities

1. Development of key modules to facilitate the design of production lines.
2. Implementation of these modules in real production line scenarios.
3. Work closely with the Robotics team to design and implement optimization-based solutions.
4. Collaborate with other team members to evaluate and improve existing systems and pipelines.
5. Stay updated with the latest tools for the design and evaluation of industrial manufacturing processes.
6. Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
7. Travel frequently to deployment sites, primarily in China (up to 40% of the time depending on the project stage), to collaborate with on-site engineers in deploying and evaluating solutions and collecting feedback.
8. Hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Automation, Robotics, AI, or a related field.
9. Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
10. Be proficient with CAD design software, ideally SolidWorks.
11. Be proficient with simulation and design environments such as RobotDK, RobotStudio, and ideally Visual Components.
12. Have experience with network and communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, CAN, OPC-UA, etc.
13. Be experienced in programming with Python.
14. Demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
15. Have strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
