Position Summary

Samsung Networks is an industry leader in Open RAN with commercial deployments in Asia, US, Canada and the EU markets.

As part of our continued expansion across Europe, Samsung Networks Europe is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated "Director (m/f/d) of Project Management Office and Delivery" to oversee the delivery of 2G/4G and 5G Open Radio Access Network with customers. You will manage and oversee the full delivery of projects by building a best‑in‑class organisation that will excel in the delivery of complex projects and achieve all network KPI and Support SLA commitments.

You will be responsible for leading the team in the deployment of multiple multi‑year highly complex projects. You should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and contributing to innovative solutions while demonstrating leadership, technical knowledge and attention to detail. This role requires a person with a strong background in wireless networks and/or Operator IT environments to support Samsung Networks’ expansion in the European market. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate a proven track record in delivering complex mobile network projects and has extensive experience in creating and maintaining highly satisfied customers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Functional management of a team consisting of PMO and Delivery professionals
  • Successfully implement mainly Open RAN deployments across multiple sites and customers in support of business growth
  • Support recruitment, strategic development, training and process development
  • Recruit, train, mentor and develop top PMO & Delivery talent
  • Responsible for program management standards and tools used by the team
  • Work in close concert with Sales, RnD, DevOps, RAN/RF Eng and Operations
  • Work with other Network leaders to effectively plan, budget, and allocate staff to support multiple programs
  • Establish appropriate governance, ensuring key team members are identified and appropriately engaged, and a clear decision‑making process is in place
  • Deliver results within cost and schedule targets in support of business goals
  • Ensure establishment of program plans throughout the delivery lifecycle, with controlled change, identified dependencies and managed risks & issues
  • Implement and apply gated program processes and support product development gates and reviews
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships throughout the customer organisation up to CxO level, leading to a highly engaged and satisfied customer that maximises opportunities & growth
  • Work closely with the customer in defining the end‑to‑end program deliverables and associated timelines, and be responsible for the deployment master plan during the lifecycle
  • Coordinate with key team members to ensure all program achievements are communicated
  • Responsible for development and management of all process/procedures associated with the delivery functions
  • Provide regular internal & customer reporting on program progress, risks, issues and achievement adherence
  • Own program governance, including review meetings and internal project alignment meetings
  • Maintain the program RACI, ensuring any updates are communicated internally and with the customer
  • Responsible for program Key Performance Indicators and associated risk/issue management across all phases and interface points to both customer and Samsung internal functions
  • Handle the program resource plan, ensuring the Samsung organisation is effectively and timely enabled to avoid jeopardising delivery
  • Plan activities with Samsung RnD in Suwon, ensuring the plan is achieved, risks and issues handled and all partners are aware of progress
  • Engage with the customer on the ground to ensure the highest levels of customer engagement and satisfaction
  • Analyse and report activities, including breakthrough achievements, risks, issues and success points in a timely manner
  • Be responsible for the full end‑to‑end delivery of the program, adhering to all milestones and ensuring the highest quality throughout

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experienced in senior program roles in the telecom/IT sector
  • Proven track record in delivering complex large‑scale programs, preferably in Radio Access Network Delivery
  • Confirmed experience in working with large‑scale multi‑functional teams on complex IT and core telco projects
  • Proven customer and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent understanding of supplier–customer relationships during program delivery
  • Exceptional communication skills both internally and toward the customer at CxO level
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to anticipate customer needs and act accordingly
  • Excellent presentation, communication and planning skills
  • Ability to prepare and deliver complex program plans and associated updates to a high standard within tight timescales
  • Highly effective program leader who recognises the power of a positive team environment in delivering results
  • Excellent report‑writing skills
  • Exceptional ability to navigate large and complex organisations to build relationships and influence capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Willingness to travel to different project locations in Germany, Europe or Samsung Headquarters
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and ideally German
