Job Description

As the Chief Engineer, you will oversee all engineering operations and initiatives, leading a team, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful project delivery. Your leadership will shape our engineering practices and support our strategic goals.

Typical responsibilities include:

  1. Planning and executing preventative maintenance to ensure standards and guest satisfaction.
  2. Maintaining contractor records, including SWMS and insurance, and ensuring work permits are obtained.
  3. Inducting contractors according to hotel policies.
  4. Conducting quarterly audits and monthly maintenance reports.
  5. Researching and recommending procedures to improve departmental efficiency.
  6. Preparing and managing capex proposals and projects.
  7. Staying updated with industry trends and technological advancements.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role.
  • At least 2 years managing maintenance in a large multi-story building.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; trade qualifications are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to find positive solutions in various situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to perform emergency maintenance outside normal hours.
