Teamleitung Softwareentwicklung (w/m/d)

Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe is a professional pension fund for doctors in Westphalia-Lippe. We support more than 70,000 members and their relatives with retirement, survivor and disability benefits.

We have a team of about 140 professionals comprising portfolio managers, IT staff and administrators. We need you to join us as the Technical Lead for Software Development, responsible for the future of our IT services.

Position: Teamleitung Softwareentwicklung (w/m/d) – Deputy IT Department Manager – Münster.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee six developers and three trainees, and support the department manager in continuous team development; in the manager’s absence, provide faculty and personnel leadership.
  • Design, supervise and ensure software quality, development processes and quality assurance, focusing on sustainable optimisation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the main point of contact for software development, process automation and software selection, advising internal business units.
  • Systematically capture, evaluate and prepare technical and functional requirements so your team can work efficiently.
  • Hands‑on work on complex projects with modern technologies (C#, .NET Core, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript frameworks such as React).
  • Lead projects and internal product development, maintaining high technical quality and excellence.
  • Integrate AI solutions into existing business processes to create sustainable efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with the department manager on strategic and operational matters, contribute ideas and shape the IT direction.

Qualifications

  • Completed studies in computer science, IT or a comparable field.
  • Multiple years of professional and leadership experience in an IT environment, preferably in a public or insurance setting.
  • Strong knowledge of software development and enthusiasm for digitalisation and process automation.
  • Experience in project management and agile methods, and the ability to drive projects structurally and goal‑oriented.
  • Strong sense of innovation and quality, ability to rethink processes, challenge the status quo and motivate others.
  • Analytical, conceptual, highly communicative and professional demeanor.
  • Enjoys teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration across different departments.
