Senior Designer (m / f / d) in CMF (color, material, finish) design

Position: Leather Design Specialist

Location: Mülheim an der Ruhr or Stuttgart area, Germany

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, including finishing engineers, sales & marketing, color technicians, process engineers, and lab technicians, to initiate and develop the highest quality leather products for our OEM customers.

Your tasks and responsibilities

1. Work closely with color & trim designers from various OEMs
2. Understand customer requirements and translate them into new leather products
3. Develop comprehensive leather design concepts related to color and enrichments (perforation, embossing, embroidery, quilting, printing, etc.)
4. Translate concept ideas into production-ready design drawings
5. Conduct trend research and develop global design and trend presentations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CMF design (color, material, finish), industrial design, graphic design, textile design, or related field
• 8-10 years of professional design experience, preferably in mobility design
• Strong skills in materials and color integration, with the ability to identify subtle color nuances
• Creative talent in developing unique designs, with good understanding of consumer trends and material/color preferences
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator; excellent presentation skills
• Experience working in international environments with sensitivity to cultural differences
• Organized, self-managed, and motivated with a passion for design
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented work approach
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
