The Role:

We are searching for a skilled Backend Engineer to join this dynamic startup in Berlin. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that power innovative logistics solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software, ensuring seamless integration and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and high-performance server-side logic.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic.
• Optimise database performance and ensure data integrity in SQL-based relational databases.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain backend services on AWS.
• Implement best practices in code quality, testing, and security.
• Work in an agile development environment, participating in code reviews, stand-ups, and sprint planning.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer or in a similar role within a cross-functional team.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Spring Boot, and SQL (relational databases).
• Strong understanding of REST API design, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
