Minimum Qualifications:

Degree: Bachelor's Degree.

Education: Completion of a Medical Dosimetry program of at least 12 months that has been accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or completion of 36 months of clinical medical dosimetry experience under the direction of a certified medical dosimetrist or medical physicist and completion of 24 continuing education credits approved by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).

Certification: Possess and maintain certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by MDCB.

Experience: One year of experience as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist after graduation.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Perform routine quality control tests on linear accelerator, simulator, and associated equipment.
  2. Perform clinical dosimetry measurements.
  3. Check charts of patients under treatment for completeness and accuracy and verify treatment parameters.
  4. Maintain patient database for record and verify system.
  5. Assist in fabrication of treatment blocks and patient positioning devices.
  6. Maintain familiarity with the proper use of radiation therapy equipment and demonstrate capability and efficiency in the operation of required equipment.
