Lead/Principal Business Consultant - Financial Accounting Solutions in FinTech

Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. If you are an innovative, curious, collaborative person who embraces challenges and wants to grow, learn and pursue outcomes with our prestigious financial clients, say Hello to SimCorp!

At its foundation, SimCorp is guided by our values — caring, customer success-driven, collaborative, curious, and courageous. Our people-centered organization focuses on skills development, relationship building, and client success. We take pride in cultivating an environment where all team members can grow, feel heard, valued, and empowered.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
In SimCorp, we assist some of the largest financial institutions in the world to be efficient by simplifying their investment, accounting, and operations processes. We do this through IT systems, processes, and financial knowledge. Implementing our software solutions by way of high-quality projects is at the core of what we do. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the successful implementation of our software platform SimCorp Dimension and help enable our clients to reach their desired outcomes.

In this role as a Principal Business Consultant, you will be part of our EMEA Professional Services. You will join our Accounting & Operations team. The team’s mission is to implement financial accounting solutions in SimCorp Dimension for our clients, to advise on standards and best practices and to build bridges between our clients’ needs and our innovative software. We are looking for a candidate with knowledge and experience in accounting for financial instruments - in particular knowledge of established accounting standard rules, such as IFRS 9 (or previously IAS 39) or local GAAP in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

You will mainly work remotely for projects in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. During the three-weeks' SimCorp Dimension Academy, ‘hands-on’ experience with our software system will be a part of your onboarding.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Contributing to all phases of SimCorp Dimension implementation projects with a focus on financial accounting solutions
  • Advising on workflows and processes in financial accounting and operations based on your business experience and knowledge of our standard solutions
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the client
  • Facilitating workshops to align our solutions to requirements from new and existing clients
  • Mapping to SimCorp Dimension functions and processes, as well as designing and configuring a customized solution if need be.
  • Leading workstreams covering all required tasks, dependencies, and time/resource estimation
  • Mentoring, coaching, and helping colleagues to secure the project deliveries

What We Value
Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to excel at several of the following skills and be able to - and interested in - learning the rest.

  • Work experience as an Analyst or Consultant, for example from banks, asset managers, insurers or consulting firms
  • Knowledge about some of the following elements in investment accounting such as IAS 39, IFRS 9 or local GAAP (e.g. UGB in Austria or HGB in Germany) or in fund accounting
  • Hands-on experience with accounting of financial instruments and life-cycle events or accounting closing processes and financial reporting is desirable
  • Knowledge or experience in middle-/back-office operations such as settlement, reconciliation, collateral management etc. is beneficial
  • Experience with working in projects, e.g. in implementing and configuring software
  • Enthusiasm to learn and use new software
  • Very good communication and consulting skills
  • Fluency in German (at least B2) and English, both spoken and written
