Technical Project Manager Earth Observation Missions (m/f/d)
As an experienced and dedicated Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of exciting and complex proposals and projects in the domain of Earth Observation in phases 0/A and B1. You will lead interdisciplinary project teams, ensure efficient collaboration, and manage the project lifecycle to deliver on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Your Tasks
- Lead the preparation and execution of Earth Observation mission and system proposals for ESA, EC, DLR, commercial customers, etc.
- Direct the project team throughout development, organising regular meetings to plan and review progress.
- Analyse, define and coordinate requirements with the project team and customers.
- Manage and coordinate individual project partners and subcontractors.
- Be responsible for cost, schedule, and performance of studies or projects.
- Negotiate, strengthen relationships with clients, and act as a liaison to key stakeholders in client organisations.
Your Qualifications
- Successful completion of a degree in aerospace, engineering, or a related field.
- Practical experience, preferably in the dynamic space industry, with a proven record of preparing persuasive proposals and effective presentations.
- Knowledge of space projects, including systems and operations.
- Deep understanding of institutional structures to navigate complex environments.
- Passion for and knowledge of space; understanding of Earth Observation remote sensing principles (optical and microwave) is an advantage.
- Experience with applicable standards (ECSS) is desirable.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong result orientation, operational efficiency, high sense of responsibility, and ability to make pragmatic, timely decisions.
- High flexibility, willingness to work in international teams, and ability to meet tight schedules.
- Proficiency in the English language.
