A Science Manager position is available in the Division of Precision Physics at the Max Born Institute in Berlin, Germany (Scientific Director: Nathalie Picqu). We are seeking a candidate to assist in implementing the director's scientific vision and division strategy.

Job Profile:
The Project Manager will:
- Work closely with the Scientific Director and the management team to oversee the general management of the Division and other administrative tasks.
- Assist with budget management, procurement, publications, teaching, and dissemination activities.
- Prepare reports, letters, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including evaluation and annual reports.
- Manage research project documentation and ensure compliance with institutional and funding guidelines.
- Oversee science communication, including public outreach, event planning, social media strategy, and website content updates.
- Represent the Director in communications related to the management and presentation of the Division.
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding research staff and facilitate professional development for junior researchers.
- Participate in organizing activities and initiatives within the Division.
- Serve as a point of contact for research-related administrative issues.
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree preferably in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, or extensive experience in science management. Interest in research administration is essential. Experience in organizational and management roles in academia is advantageous.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German; English is the working language.
- Experience in writing and editing research reports, project management, evaluation, or science communication is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to prioritize effectively.
- High integrity and confidentiality handling skills.
- Reliable with good time management skills.
- Service-oriented, eager to learn, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient with computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.
