As the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency and reliability of the equipment and facilities for our Dortmund site. You will oversee all engineering activities, manage CapEx projects, manage the maintenance programs and work on improvement projects and related investments. All while working closely with the Site Manager and Global Engineering as well as leading and developing a great team of 4 colleagues.

What will you do?

  • Management of the site's Engineering and Maintenance department
  • Management of a team of four colleagues and several service managers
  • Ensuring the site's maintenance program with the goal of preventive maintenance
  • Focus on the continuous improvement process
  • Change management and commissioning
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements
  • Participation in investment planning
  • Project management for investment projects, including coordination of service providers, cost and schedule control
  • Cost control for the Engineering and Maintenance department
  • Strong focus on occupational safety and ensuring safe workplaces in accordance with company specifications

What are we looking for?

Education: Completed degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field or equivalent training and experience.

Experience: 10 years’ experience in maintenance in the chemical industry or related, with experience managing capital projects and installation/commissioning of equipment in a manufacturing environment. Team leadership experience is a must.

Technical skills:

  • SEVESO/ATEX knowledge and experience
  • Experience in technical change management and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations
  • Preparation of P&IDs and design standards
  • Knowledge and experience in maintenance practices and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge and experience in project management
  • Safety conscious. Safety is at the core of our culture.
  • Strong teamworker
  • Excellent communication skills to work with all levels
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate others

Languages: Excellent communication skills in German and English
