Overview

Shopware is an international, leading open commerce platform for ambitious digital commerce companies. We’re building the future of commerce infrastructure, enabling businesses to integrate their systems, automate processes, and reduce operational complexity. As companies expand their digital ecosystems, they need more than just APIs—they need orchestration.

We’re looking for a Technical Product Manager (m/f/d) to guide the development of our emerging Business Orchestration and Automation Technology (BOAT) capabilities. This includes building a scalable integration backbone, real-time data synchronisation, and automation tools that enable merchants and developers to connect, configure, and run their commerce stack with greater speed, stability, and intelligence. You will be at the forefront of building abstraction and automation layers that support both technical and non-technical users to seamlessly compose complex business processes. You’ll be responsible for key initiatives to enable integrations, system interoperability, and the design of intuitive orchestration tooling. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, infrastructure, and strategic stakeholders to shape one of our most influential platform initiatives.

Location and working model

This position can be filled on-site, hybrid, but also full-remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.

Responsibilities

  • You define and shape the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our orchestration and automation platform components.
  • You work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to develop scalable, event-driven, cloud-native solutions.
  • You translate technical and ecosystem needs into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • You collaborate with developers, agencies, and merchants to identify meaningful use cases for integrations and workflows.
  • You ensure early value delivery by defining clear milestones and MVP use cases.
  • You act as a connector between platform engineering and business stakeholders, bringing people together and aligning technical execution with strategic goals.
  • You communicate the product direction clearly to internal and external audiences.
  • You conduct market research and competitor analysis to support informed product decisions.
  • You monitor product performance and iterate based on user feedback and relevant metrics.

What you’ll bring

  • You have 4+ years of experience in technical product management — ideally in infrastructure, developer tooling, or platform-oriented roles.
  • You bring a solid technical understanding of cloud services, distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • You’ve worked on integration platforms, automation tools, or backend infrastructure products.
  • You have a product mindset: user-first, value-driven, and outcome-focused.
  • You’re a strong communicator and collaborate well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You’re comfortable working through early-stage product challenges, building clarity, and aligning teams.
  • You have experience with low-code/no-code platforms, business rules engines, or workflow automation tools — both proprietary (e.g., Zapier, Make, Workato) and open source (e.g., Camunda, n8n).
  • You’re familiar with data abstraction patterns such as unified APIs, GraphQL gateways, or data virtualization layers.
  • You have a strong understanding of integration use cases (e.g., ERP, PIM, CRM, EDI) and how they connect within digital commerce ecosystems.

What we offer

  • Company Culture: Open culture with flat hierarchies, where individual initiative is encouraged.
  • Employment Contracts: Permanent positions that offer long-term security.
  • Flexibility: Flexible working hours and options for mobile work and full-remote contracts.

  • Development Opportunities: Diverse opportunities for personal growth and development.
