The Opportunity:

The Transformation of Diagnostics Finance for Global Operations, Q&R, and Intercompany Supply Chain (FDO) has at its core the desire to create a lean finance organization that embraces flexible ways of working and interfaces seamlessly with other parts of finance as well as business units across Diagnostics while bringing strong value to our key stakeholders.

To create the organization with a strong, strategic business partnering focus, where we act as one team with focused resources and optimized processes, data and tools, we need to think and act differently. The new organization, through its lean and agile network and chapter structure, will enable us to achieve our shared ambitions.

As an FDO Finance Business Partner within the Global Functions Sub-Chapter you play a key role in achieving short- and long-term financial targets for the FDO network. You act as a sparring partner to the Global Function Finance Sub-Chapter Lead and the Head of FDO.

You will have the following tasks and be responsible/ accountable for:

  • Act as an independent sparring partner to the business and the broader finance community by providing an unbiased point of view on the performance
  • Consolidate and interpret the financial performance and business drivers for the GO network
  • Coordinate, drive and improve the business planning process according to group and divisional requirements and ensure that both short and long-term strategic priorities are met and are aligned to functional and divisional targets
  • Conduct thorough analysis of strategic opportunities, risks, and trends, both within and outside the organization, to assess their implications for Global Operations
  • Accountable for cost center controlling, SMC’s, variances, business cases, investments (Capex), Headcount and impairment testing of Global Operations on a consolidated level
  • Steer the overall Global Operations financial performance (short and long term): P&L, balance sheet, cash flow. With a holistic, enterprise view, entrepreneurial mindset and strong business acumen, lead the discussions across the Global Operations Finance network to jointly achieve performance targets.
  • Drive collaboration across chapters and deliver high value-added insights that help the organization make good strategic decisions
  • Steer and manage global projects in operations finance and adjunct chapters, bringing together capabilities and strengths across sites

Who You Are:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline; master’s degree preferred
  • Have a solid understanding of the Diagnostics or Pharma Manufacturing/Operations environment and the reporting landscape
  • Strong accounting skills with expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards, specifically in manufacturing accounting.
  • Proven track record in finance business partnering for global and local organizations and broad finance knowledge with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills to mobilize stakeholders to advocate for change to the better
  • Excellent skills in spreadsheet tools and presentation software as well as knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a (cross-functional) team, bringing agile ways of working, empowered decision making and growth mindset to life
