What you bring to the table

  • Successfully completed a degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field
  • Several years' experience in finance, ideally in agile, dynamic corporate structures, and in building and managing finance teams. An enjoyment of a medium-sized corporate culture is also required.
  • In-depth knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting, consolidation and financial planning
  • Excellent Excel skills, particularly in using complex formulas and pivot tables to create detailed data analyses.
  • Ideally, you will have experience in implementing modern controlling tools (e.g. LucaNet, Jedox).
  • Strong analytical skills and a solution- and process-oriented mindset.
  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to contribute to operational and strategic issues in equal measure.
  • Enjoy working in a team and be willing to learn and develop personally.
  • Very good communication skills in German and English.
  • Integrity, a sense of responsibility, and an enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Your role

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a member of the management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial stability and further development of GBG Forschungs GmbH.

Your mission

Working closely with the CEO and management team, you will translate the corporate strategy into long-term financial planning, thereby laying the foundation for economic growth and scientific excellence.

Your tasks

  • Management and further development of the finance department (4 employees). If suitable and interested, additional responsibility for the IT department (3 employees).
  • Overall responsibility for accounting, project controlling, budgeting and cash management.
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, monthly reports and forecasts
  • Transfer accounting from HGB to IFRS.
  • Development and implementation of a digital controlling and consolidation tool for modern, efficient financial management.
  • Establishment and monitoring of meaningful KPIs to inform management decisions
  • Responsibility for treasury, cash and liquidity management, including investment planning.
  • Acting as a point of contact for management, auditors, tax advisors, shareholders and authorities.
