Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for Safety and GoalZero culture. Lead by example and ensure discipline and compliance. Responsible for the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and the surrounding community.
- Monitor and review implementation of Environmental, Health, Safety and Operational Excellence standards for applicable projects to ensure compliance with internal standards, applicable legislation, and permits.
- Responsible for daily operations of multiple sorting and recycling sites, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Build a strong and efficient site organization by planning and implementing necessary changes and by mentoring with an emphasis on staff development and career planning activities, coaching, and guiding the team.
- Develop, implement, and promote continuous improvement initiatives in line with business priorities using benchmark references.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve operational performance.
- Develop and manage budgets for the site, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and European environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Promote sustainable practices and initiatives across all operations, contributing to the company’s sustainability goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, suppliers, and community organizations.
- Actively engage with the C&LCS business functions on feed stock and final product developments.
- Maintain contact with the Procurement organization for day-to-day support.
- Prepare regular reports on operational performance, sustainability metrics, and financial performance for senior management.
- Analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions to drive operational improvements.
- Build and develop an organizational culture that has a bias for action, commitment to value-added services/processes, and a sense of accountability and leadership.
- Attract & Maintain a talented workforce and develop succession planning for the organization.
- Manage the operations budget and expenditure.
Qualifications:
- Engineering or science degree, or equivalent professional experience or a comparable discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in operations management, with an affinity for sortation and/or recycling technology.
- Working experience in the (petro)chemical or recycling industry is a requirement.
- Fluency in German and English, written and spoken.
- Expertise in running operational units including HSE, process optimization and continuous improvement, cost control, and budgeting.
- Experience in developing and implementing brown field plants, large plant modification projects, and familiarity with project management processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
