Head of Innovation & Process Engineering

Bühler Biotechnology is building a strong position in bioprocess technology markets such as fermentation, alternative proteins, and sustainable biomanufacturing. As Head of Innovation & Process Engineering, you will define and drive Bühler's innovation portfolio and ensure new solutions are shaped with a clear market focus.

Your mission is to bridge emerging technologies, customer needs, and engineering expertise to build the future of Bühler's bioprocess offering.

This is where you'll excel

• Define and lead Bühler's innovation portfolio for bioprocess technology, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and customer value
• Drive early-phase project definition and technology concepts, handing over to execution teams for implementation
• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary process engineering group covering fermentation, downstream purification, and integrated bioprocessing
• Build and expand Bühler's innovation ecosystem by partnering with customers, start‑ups, and academic institutions
• Ensure Bühler's solutions are scalable, market‑ready, and commercially impactful
• Act as a thought leader in the field, representing Bühler at industry forums and conferences

These are the skills you'll need

• MSc/PhD in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 15+ years of experience in bioprocess engineering and technology‑driven innovation
• Proven track record in innovation portfolio leadership or technology strategy
• Strong leadership across cross‑functional and customer‑facing innovation projects
• Ability to connect scientific insight with market strategy and business impact
• Established network in biotech/biopharma markets and excellent communication skills
