Overview

Position: Financial Analyst (Permanent – 100%)

Entity: QNB (Suisse) SA

Direct Supervisor: Head of Finance

We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst to join QNB in Geneva. Key must-have competencies include:

  • Preparation of regulatory returns to the Swiss National Bank and FINMA, using the FiRE system.
  • Calculation and recording of accounting entries, including accruals, prepayments, tax and depreciation
  • Preparation of the financial statements and notes.
  • Review of the accounting records from a financial control perspective.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare regulatory returns to the Swiss National Bank and FINMA.
  • Prepare documentation related to taxation (direct and indirect tax) as well as financial reports to the Head Office and for local and group management.
  • Manage finance department related projects.
  • Processing of invoices from Suppliers.
  • Ensure that the accounting records of the bank are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
  • Provide the required support in monitoring limits and exposures with a view to improving the Bank’s profits, whilst at the same time ensuring compliance with the consolidated/ overall approved limits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compilation of information required for disclosure of all material matters concerning the Bank.
  • Assist the Head of Finance in developing mechanisms designed to ensure compliance with all relevant local laws and regulations and also international laws and regulations.
  • Assist the Head of Finance in performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes pertaining to the financial control related process.
  • Observe and promote cost consciousness and efficiency, and enhances productivity, to minimize costs, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
  • Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and forecast/analyze fluctuations and variances.
  • Prepare monthly budget consolidation and assists in the Budget/ forecast process.
  • Review monthly Payroll.
  • Coordinate financial questions/answers with Head of Finance.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and disclosures for internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare annual financial statements / information for external stakeholders such as Auditors; Outsourced Payroll; Regulatory bodies etc.
  • Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in Switzerland.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute as-hoc reports and financial info as needed.
  • Assist in managing the banking business from a financial perspective to gauge the quality and performance of the bank’s departments.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret data as and when requested by the Head of Finance.
  • Prepare financial reports for forecasting, trend and results analysis.
  • Provide cover for the Head of Finance, in case of absence.
  • Process invoices from suppliers.

Profile

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • University degree at Masters level in business or finance, with a strong emphasis on accounting. or hold a professional qualification in accounting (Expert Comptable-Diplomé or Chartered Accountant)
  • At least 3 years’ professional experience within the finance department of a Swiss bank.

Required Skills:

  • Strong computer skills (highly proficient in Excel.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant banking statistics, local relevant regulatory banking regulation and local tax systems. Mandatory experience in regulatory reporting (SNB and FINMA).
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, ability to listen, guide and advise external and also internal partners.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of Avaloq required.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to question status-quo and deliver facts-based conclusions.
  • Concise, direct communication while under pressure, and active knowledge-sharing.
  • Business and problem-solving skills. Agile and flexible.
  • Excellent team player with high spirit of motivation and commitment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English. Arabic is an asset.
  • Good common sense, curious, flexible and highly motivated personality.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a good team player, with a “can do” attitude.
  • Swiss residency required
