The secret to our success is our ability to connect with clients to provide a first-class customer experience.
What you’ll do
- You’ll collaborate with a project team to develop design documents and drawings for substation protection and control (P&C) systems including one-line diagrams, relay & metering diagrams, AC & DC schematic diagrams, bills of materials, and field mark-ups of project as-built drawings.
- You’ll apply extensive knowledge of protection relaying schemes, including bus, transmission line, and transformer protection, to design solutions for complex substation projects.
- You’ll design and implement protection schemes and controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. You’ll also perform detailed analysis of system configurations and relay settings.
- You’ll perform QA design reviews for all P&C documents.
- You’ll support commissioning and testing phases of protection and control systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- You’ll communicate and coordinate project activities with project engineers, designers, and customer representatives.
- You’ll work with great people, learn, grow and have a good time doing it.
Qualifications
- You studied electrical engineering with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a professional engineer (PE) license, and at least 8 years of experience in protection and control (P&C) engineering design, particularly in substation projects. Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices in P&C engineering.
- You have the ability to manage and execute complex projects with minimal supervision and a strong understanding of substation design principles and protection relays/schemes (bus, transmission line, transformer).
- You’re proficient with business and engineering applications including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- You’re a people person with ability to collaborate across disciplines and develop effective protection strategies, ensuring designs meet standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
