The Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC) at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC), located in Lecce, is looking for one talented and enthusiastic Junior Associate Scientist. In this role, he/she will contribute to the design of ICT solutions in the green computing area.

Role

A Junior Associate Scientist reports to the ADIC center and is responsible for leading and contributing to the design of innovative solutions, data and services in a new area of ADIC related to green computing.

Responsibilities

  • Development of innovative software solutions, services and datasets in the green computing area;
  • Scouting of technologies to support the development of activities in the green computing area

Requirements

  • M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent fields;
  • Very good knowledge of the English language;
  • Accuracy and good analytical skills;
  • Documented knowledge/experience in the green computing area;
  • Documented knowledge of High Performance Computing, parallel data analysis and data engineering solutions;
  • Good knowledge and experience of Linux environments and Python programming;
  • Good knowledge and experience with version control system tools (i.e., Git/GitHub);
  • Flexibility to work on a diverse range of tasks and to manage deadlines

Duration, Compensation & Benefits

  • Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
  • The Managers will be based in Lecce CMCC office
  • The appointment period will be of 12 months starting as soon as possible, renewable pending a positive evaluation, with a gross annual salary range based on qualification and working experience and competitive with major research centers in Europe
  • Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract
  • Flexible working time as per internal policies
  • Support during the immigration process, if needed

Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
