Role: Operations Engineer (Linux and Kubernetes) for a space mission in Rome.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor ESA missions in real-time to ensure integrity and performance.
• Diagnose, resolve, and prevent operational issues to reduce downtime.
• Analyze system performance and optimize processes.
• Develop scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Assist with new projects, software updates, and system integrations.
• Maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
• Perform routine application maintenance for optimal system performance.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Linux, Shell Scripting, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of storage solutions and cloud technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process optimization skills.
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Experience in requirements analysis, project planning, and reporting.
• Excellent command of English (B2 or higher).
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, HTML, XML, Apache, Tomcat, Python, OpenLDAP, databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL), satellite environment, and ESA standards.
• Experience in monitoring satellite missions.
