Location: Turin, Italy (initially) and China
Contract Type: initial temporary contract in Italy (6–8 months), leading to a permanent local contract in China

Position Summary: At Ahlstrom, within our Business Unit LLS, we develop and manufacture high-performance fiber-based materials used in Laboratory, Diagnostics, and Bioprocess industries. Known for quality, reliability, and innovation, we are expanding our Laboratory and Life Science business. To support this growth, we seek a passionate and results-driven Technical Customer Service Engineer to join our international team.
As a Technical Customer Service Engineer, you will support customers and internal stakeholders across EMEA and APAC regions, working closely with Product Management, Sales, Operations, Regulatory Compliance, and R&D.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support & Customer Interface: Act as a technical liaison between the company and customers across EMEA, providing expert support during product validation, testing, and implementation. Analyze feedback and test results to guide customers in product selection and application, ensuring optimal performance.
- Product Development & Process Transfer: Contribute to new product development and industrialization. Play a key role in transfer processes, ensuring technical consistency, process stability, and market alignment.
- Scientific Analysis & Quality Specifications: Manage scientific aspects related to product performance, define and refine specifications, collaborate with Quality to establish test methods and compliance criteria.
- Market & Product Intelligence: Enhance technical expertise in Laboratory and Life Sciences markets, monitor industry trends, regulations, and competitors.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Support commercial initiatives with technical insights, contribute to marketing and technical documentation.
- Portfolio Support: Provide technical support for materials like cellulose, cotton, micro glass, and quartz, helping to expand their applications.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in problem-solving, non-conformance analysis, and customer complaint resolution. Propose improvements based on data and feedback.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (MSc) in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
- Experience or strong interest in Laboratory and Filtration technologies
- Structured, methodical working style with good prioritization skills
- Results-oriented with focus on deadlines and quality
- Strong analytical skills and data interpretation
- Problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly
- Proactive, curious, quick learner
- Reliable team player, willing to travel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce or CRM is a plus
- High proficiency in English; additional languages (French, Swedish, Spanish, German, Italian) are valuable
