Thales Alenia Space is a Joint Venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), a global space manufacturer delivering high-tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures. Our customers include governments, institutions, space agencies, and telecommunications operators.

We are looking for a Junior Navigation System and Solution Architect.

Profile

• You graduated with a Master of Engineering or Computer Science or in University, and you have significant experience in architecture and engineering systems
• You are a leader willing to engage and develop your team through the use of collaborative work and challenging approaches
• You are responsible and show a great sense of initiative
• You are convincing and persuasive
• You like to be involved with the customer
• You have good communication and relationship skills

Competencies

• You are aware of the description of the operational concept
• You have a deep knowledge of the field and its technical strategy
• You are familiar with operational analysis
• You are able to work in co-engineering (Lean Thinking, Obeya...)
• You understand the different actors involved in the project and are able to contextualise and change the perspective (political, economic, social, technical, environmental, legal...)
• You are familiar with Concept, Design, Experimentation and Simulation tools, as well as modelling tools (such as MBSE)
• You are familiar with working with Integration Verification Validation Qualification and Agile methods

Nice to Have

• You know about basic telecommunication principles (propagation error, access schema, modulations, etc.)
• You know about satellite navigation principles (how they works, which are the main key performance parameters, etc.)
• You are familiar with simulation tools such as Matlab, STK, etc.
• You want to participate to international meetings with the main European Space actors (ESA, EUSPA, EC, etc.)
• You know about Agile methodologies (e.g. Lean Engineering, SAFe, etc.)
