Main Role (System Engineer – Solution)
Provide specialized engineering expertise in end‑to‑end systems and ground segment sub‑systems and components throughout a space project life cycle, from design specification to manufacturing, integration, verification and operations.
Focus on E2E systems and processed payloads, defining ground tools to improve performance (interference detection, mission planning, signal analyses, etc.).
Expertise in secure TTC systems is valuable, as is the capability to define software requirements and validate software products.
Perform system/subsystem performance analyses to derive component requirements (link budget, BER, coverage, pointing loss, linearity, phase noise, switching stack probability, mission planning, etc.).
Experience / Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Physics or equivalent, with a specialization that includes telecommunication or RF electronics engineering, and a voting score >105/110.
- Experience in ground system design and mission planning.
- 2‑4 years related work experience in RF engineering, preferably in the space industry.
- Knowledge of payload architecture, design and manufacturing, including RF equipment, repeaters, antenna subsystems, link budget, capacity assessment, waveform, ModCod, and TLC standard protocols (5G, DVB, etc.).
- Knowledge of UHF and L Band technologies and Internet of Things architectural concepts.
- Experience with software design tools (STK, Satsoft, MATLAB) and simulation tools.
- Experience in antenna and payload equipment procurement.
- Programming experience (Java/C) and payload computer simulation (MATLAB, Simulink).
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work autonomously and cooperatively in a diverse international team, delivering solutions on schedule.
- Strong analytical, organizational and reporting skills with a proactive attitude.
- Great team‑working attitude.
- Availability to work at customer premises in Vigna di Valle for at least 50% of yearly working days.
