  • This is a Part-Time position, 25 hours a week

Job Description

  • Utilize your analytical skills to provide timely expert medical reviews for requests evaluating the medical necessity of services that do not meet utilization review criteria.
  • Review appeals for denied services based on medical experience and evidence-based guidelines, following appeal policies.
  • Collaborate with over 500 Physician Peers to ensure proper patient care through evidence-based decision-making.
  • Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with referring physicians to clarify clinical information and review outcomes.

Qualifications Required

  • M.D. or D.O. with an active U.S. medical license, board-certified in Gastroenterology by ABMS or AOA.
  • Recent practice experience in direct patient care within the past 18 months.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience beyond residency/fellowship.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws; URAC and NCQA standards are a plus.
  • Ability to commit to a set weekly schedule (Monday through Friday).
  • Willingness to complete 3 weeks of full-time training.
