For our client, a multinational company leader in its sector, we are looking for a Mission Planning System Engineer.

Responsibilities

The Mission Planning System Engineer is an expert in designing and implementing Mission Planning System solutions for Ground Segment that support new constellations in different domains, e.g. Earth Observation, Optical Communication. The system is responsible for generating the Mission Plan for the elaboration of the satellite Telecommands, verifying the Mission Constraints such as Power, Thermal, Guidance, Platform and Payload constraints.

With at least 5-7 years of experience, the engineer designs and coordinates the development of mission planning solutions, works collaboratively in Agile SCRUM environments.

Activities & Responsibilities

  • Analyze the mission requirements and mission constraints to determine the satellite models to be adopted.
  • Design and coordinate the development of software solutions for Mission planning system for large constellation scenarios.
  • Analyze and integrate external satellite models (e.g., external guidance libraries) into the Mission Planning system.
  • Contribute to technical project documentation (Requirements Documents, Operations Concept Document, Operations Engineering Plan, User and Administration Manual, Test Procedures, etc.).
  • Assist in project reviews when required.

Your Profile

Competencies

  • Proven knowledge of flight dynamics.
  • Proven experience in mission planning system design and implementation.
  • Understanding of software design principles.
  • Experience designing microservices applications.
  • Knowledge of programming languages Java, Python.
  • Knowledge of security coding standards (OWASP, CWE/SANS).
  • Knowledge of container orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.).
  • Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Automation and Information Engineering (5 years) with competence in flight dynamics.
  • Ph.D in Aerospace matters is appreciated.
  • High-level written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Quality standards and provisions.

Further Skills

  • Knowledge about configuration management domain (GIT, GITLAB, etc).
  • Knowledge of software security mechanisms (encryption, signatures).
  • Experience in multiple technology stacks application development.
  • Experience in system engineering, design and modelling.
