Communication & External Relations Specialist (m/f/d) – with English and German

AHK Italien, the Italy‑German Chamber of Commerce, is the largest bilateral entity in Italy, representing the German economy in Italy. We promote cooperation between Italy and Germany in an inclusive and innovative spirit.

Position

The specialist will work directly with the area manager to support press office activities, publish institutional materials, manage external relations, and strengthen visibility and reputation in Italy and Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and expand relationships with Italian and German media, drafting press releases, articles, interviews and media materials.
• Produce editorial and institutional content (reports, studies, briefs, infographics, speeches).
• Support planning and execution of communication and external relations strategies.
• Collaborate on positioning campaigns on economic, industrial and Italian‑German cooperation topics.
• Assist in organizing institutional events, press conferences and meetings with stakeholders and partner companies.
• Monitor the economic and political debate, identifying communication opportunities for the organization and its partners.
• Contribute to digital content planning (social posts, etc.) to support public positioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in political economics, history or philosophy.
• 2–3 years of experience in press offices, communications agencies, representation bodies or institutional contexts.
• Excellent written skills in Italian and English; intermediate German (B1‑B2) preferred.
• Strong data interpretation and newsworthiness analysis skills; political‑economic sensitivity.
• Basic knowledge of economic, industrial, and Italy‑Germany bilateral relations.

Preferred

• Public speaking experience and group facilitation skills.
• Experience in journalism, the third sector, associations or political organizations.
• Diplomatic attitude and intercultural sensitivity in dialogue with diverse stakeholders.
