Automation & Commissioning Engineer

This opportunity is ideal for engineers who want to grow quickly and gain practical experience with highly automated systems. The company is seeking an Automation and Commissioning Engineer to support the installation and start‑up of packing and palletizing systems used across food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and other industrial sectors.

The role is designed for someone who wants hands‑on learning, ongoing training, international exposure, and a clear path toward leadership positions as the company expands.

What Candidates Can Gain From This Role

Continuous training and long‑term growth

With structured training and mentorship, engineers build the technical and organisational skills needed to grow into Project Managers or Technical Team Leaders, which the company actively encourages as it scales.

Hands‑on experience with full‑line commissioning

Engineers will work on complete packing and palletizing lines, integrating PLC logic, interlocks with third‑party equipment, communication buses, VFDs, and automation peripherals such as labelers, barcode readers, checkweighers, and vision systems.

International travel and on‑site commissioning

Engineers will participate in pre‑commissioning activities and then support system start‑up at customer sites across Italy and Europe, working from home inbetween.

Requirements

Language ability

Applicants must have a working command of both Italian and English, suitable for technical communication and on‑site collaboration.

Technical background

  • 2 to 3 years of automation setup experience
  • Strong PLC programming skills (ladder, structured text, Siemens platforms)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Industrial, Electronics, or related engineering fields

Other requirements

  • Willingness to travel within Europe
  • Valid passport and driver’s license
