The CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) is looking for up to 5 accomplished researchers to join our team. We encourage applications from international scholars working on climate change and environmental issues, as well as scientists or senior scientists with experience in quantitative methods in environmental and economic disciplines. Candidates will join an international and interdisciplinary team in Milan or Venice, Italy, to strengthen research in our core topics and promote new research lines addressing environmental and climate change issues that matter to society.
CMCC Foundation is a cross‑cutting scientific research centre on climate change and its interactions with the environment, society, business and policymakers. Our work aims to stimulate sustainable growth, protect the environment and develop strategies for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change. CMCC pursues fundamental and applied science with utmost scientific integrity, prioritising data‑driven research and providing information that can support informed public debate and decision‑making processes. We invest in training all our talents and strive to create a workplace where everyone can excel.
Researchers will integrate their skills with the Institute’s analytical capacity. We have established computational models of economic, environmental and climate systems, promoting a plurality of methodological and disciplinary approaches. We also have consolidated statistical, econometric and growing machine learning capabilities. Mid‑career researchers are expected to contribute to these research topics, advance our assessment methods, and proactively contribute to the Institute’s fundraising effort. Researchers will work on internally and externally funded research projects, help coordinate scientific activities and supervise post‑docs and PhD students.
