The Control Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer within the Controls, Accessories and Marine engineering section is a lead role with deep technical capability in controls systems, with a strong emphasis on applications. The successful candidate will take ownership of control system design, development, and validation to meet detailed customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate multi-domain physics-based plant models of aeronautical engines and related control systems components
• Support simulation architectures for engines control systems design, verification, and validation
• Perform controllability studies and performance trades (Monte Carlo, sensitivity, parametric analysis)
• Support cross-functional efforts to close the gap between simulations and real engine data, increasing the reliability of simulation-based validation
• Author technical reports, interface definitions, and simulation plans
• Ensure adherence to GE’s development process including support for internal and external process audit

Qualifications / Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, automation technology or a comparable subject
• Proficiency with development of aeronautical engines mathematical models using Numerical Propulsion System Simulation software (e.g. NPSS)
• Experience with systems engineering principles, e.g. V-lifecycle process including requirements engineering, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods, validation & verification principles (keywords: DOORS, SCADE, Matlab/Simulink, Synergy, Python, C++)
• Fluency in Italian and English
• Work visa, according to local regulation, is required
