The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in **Tito (PZ), Italy.****Accountabilities*** Procure materials that are becoming obsolete (through LTB) or, already obsolete (through brokers) working daily together with the technical department in order to prevent the lack of components on strategic products.* Ability to scout market worldwide.* Stay updated on market trends, pricing variations, and industry practices to implement strategic procurement decisions.* Identify, select and manage suppliers based on performance, cost, quality, and delivery considerations.* Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable and optimized conditions.* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and vendors.* Process orders, monitor delivery dates and orders to ensure products and services meet the required standards, perform follow-ups, and maintain records.* Resolve any issues and disputes regarding delivery, price discrepancies, quality or other concerns.* Assist in the preparation of reports, documents and master data maintenance.* Ensure proper documentation, record keeping, filing of purchase orders, invoices, and other related documents.**Required skills/Knowledge*** 2-5 years’ purchasing experience in the electronics components field required.* Expertise with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an aptitude for learning new software and systems.* Knowledge of the material field of electronics and mechanics.* Ability to communicate confidently and effectively.* Flexible team player who is willing to adapt to change.* Proven analytical ability.* Material costing and price structure analysis.* Self-motivated and results-oriented, including ability to prioritize multiple requests.* Strong conflict resolution skills to address and resolve issues with suppliers and vendors.* Excellent decision-making, critical thinking and negotiation skills.* ERP software knowledge preferred.**Languages**Fluent English**Education**Associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Economics with Technical skills associated to procurement or supply chain abilities, or related field of study and experience which would permit successful performance of the requested job.#LI-AM1 **#LI-Hybrid****.****At Hitachi Rail, there is a place for everyone.** **We welcome and value differences in background, age, gender, sexuality, family status, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, and world view.** **It is our commitment to create an inclusive environment - we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.****We would be delighted if you would be one of our followers at**Our people love technology – and they love making a difference.
