STEM IT - Project Quality Manager

We are seeking a Project Quality Manager who will report to the Project Quality and HSE Director of the Business Unit Projects (Powerlink, part of Prysmian Group) and will be based at our HQ in Milan, Italy. The main responsibilities include planning and implementing quality activities within projects, coordinating and supervising Quality Assurance and Control activities, in accordance with project complexity, scope of work (including design, manufacturing of cables/accessories, land and marine installation), company methods, contractual requirements, standards, and regulations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in managing client relations concerning quality matters and contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate the development of Project Quality Plans, Quality Control Plans, and Project Quality Procedures, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory standards involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor product quality and client relationships in cooperation with manufacturing plants.
  • Evaluate suppliers and subcontractors during tendering and execution phases, reviewing their quality plans and activities to ensure adherence to project quality standards.
  • Organize and deliver quality training to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality audits of project processes, manufacturing plants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Manage client quality audits, non-conformities, and complaints, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Encourage project improvements, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Assist in preparing project quality reports and analyze project data, including performance indicators and lessons learned.
  • Ensure contract review and project close-out are completed as per contractual requirements.

The role also involves collaborating with the company's Quality & HSE functions for reporting, tendering, and quality management activities.

Essential qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Quality Management within EPCI environments, including manufacturing, land site activities, or vessel operations.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9000 standards; auditing experience is required, and being a qualified lead auditor is a plus. Knowledge of problem-solving, IEC standards, PMI, risk management, Lean Six Sigma (certification is a plus).
  • Leadership skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • People management and organizational skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High proficiency in PC use.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
