Overview

Are you a Housing Officer looking to make a difference? We have an opportunity for a Retirement Housing Officer to join our team based in Leicestershire. The role will be predominantly based at our Arkwright House and Brookside Gardens properties, and you will occasionally work at other Leicestershire locations to cover absences.

This is a 35‑hour per week role on a rota shift pattern, with an out‑of‑hours standby rota minimum three times a year to provide occasional phone‑based support to our Retirement Living schemes. It is a fixed‑term contract until 31 July 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a housing and tenancy management service to maximise tenancy sustainment.
  • Act as a regular and flexible customer contact for residents, offering practical and preventative support and advice.
  • Signpost residents to specialist care and support services to maximise wellbeing, social interaction and minimise isolation.
  • Effectively manage building maintenance, including property inspections, risk assessments, H&S monitoring and compliance checks.
  • Investigate and take timely action to reported breaches of tenancy/leasehold agreements.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with people in sheltered housing, housing management, residential care, home care, social services or health services.
  • Customer focused with experience of solving complex issues.
  • Awareness of working with vulnerable adults desirable.
  • Great interpersonal skills and communication with diverse backgrounds.
  • Drive high standards and continual service improvement.
  • Confidence using digital devices, ICT software and systems.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
