Subsea Cost Control and Planning Engineer – Oil & Gas

Reporting

The Cost Control and Planning Engineer reports to the Project General Manager/Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all project support services including cost control, planning & scheduling, document control, procurement support, logistics, and administrative services for subsea piping schemes within offshore scope.
  • Coordinate project service teams during EPC/EPCIC phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Commissioning).
  • Develop and maintain the Project Services Execution Plan in line with company and client requirements.
  • Oversee project cost control and forecasting activities; monitor budgets, track expenditures, identify cost variances, and prepare cost reports.
  • Supervise preparation and maintenance of detailed project schedules; integrate subcontractor schedules into the master project schedule; monitor progress and highlight deviations or risks.
  • Support the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services; administer contracts, review commercial terms, track variations, and monitor contractor performance.
  • Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of personnel, materials, and equipment; oversee marine logistics, customs clearance, and transportation arrangements; ensure SIMOPS and offshore operational requirements are incorporated into service planning.
  • Maintain project document control systems to ensure proper document flow; ensure compliance with contractual submittal requirements; prepare and issue weekly/monthly project service reports.
  • Ensure all project services activities comply with company HSE standards, client requirements, and local regulations; promote a safety‑first culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in project services / project controls after earning the BSc degree.
  • Excellent spoken and written English; proven ability to write professional reports.
