The International School of Florence is seeking a Nurse with extensive experience working with children.
Location
Upper School (Florence) and Junior School (Bagno a Ripoli)
The Role’s Main Goals and Responsibilities
Providing care to students for injuries, acute illnesses, and managing students with special health care needs. This includes assessment, reporting, communication with parents and physicians, and individualized health care planning.
Leading health services, including developing emergency and disaster response plans.
Conducting health screenings and referrals, including testing such as vision screening.
Promoting a healthy school environment physically and emotionally.
Providing health education to students through individual or group sessions, and assisting in health curriculum development. Topics may include nutrition, exercise, smoking prevention, oral health, infectious disease prevention, substance abuse, immunizations, adolescent pregnancy prevention, and parenting.
Regularly checking health equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Maintaining staff records of first aid training, CPR, and updates.
Qualifications
Diploma in nursing with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children.
Fluency in English and Italian.
