Stage Acquisti- Base metals junior Buyer

Team Overview and Job Responsibilities

Prysmian Purchasing function is looking for an intern to join as a Junior Buyer in the Base Metals team.

Main tasks of the role :

1. Support the inbound Supply Chain management of aluminium and copper rod for all the group plants in Europe based on negotiated contracts. This involves receiving demand from the plants, checking its consistency with Logistics HQ, and allocating to contracted suppliers to optimize Prysmian's spending, considering existing constraints such as contractual obligations, supplier capacity, and lead times. Operational activities are carried out under the supervision of a senior team member.
2. Manage the administrative cycle of metal supply, including call-offs to suppliers, order management in SAP, handling variations and extras, and updating internal databases.
3. Expedite suppliers to ensure alignment with plant requirements.

Who are we looking for

• Education: Engineering or Economics degree, including three-year diplomas.
• Experience: Not required but a plus if the candidate has some experience in purchasing or logistics.
• Personal characteristics: Analytical mindset, high accuracy, organized, methodical, and predisposed to continuous specialist work to ensure data quality. Ability to work under stress. Customer-oriented attitude towards internal clients.
• IT skills: Excellent command of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. Flexibility to learn specific software tools.
• Language skills: Excellent spoken and written English, used daily for interfacing with affiliates and suppliers.
• Financial knowledge: Understanding of derivative contracts and main instruments for price risk mitigation is preferable.

The selected person will undergo training and then support the supply chain team under the direct supervision of the Base Metal Head.
