Financial Analyst / Controller (Tech Group expanding through M&A)
Abacus is a fast‑growing Tech Group operating in the IT sector, focused on managed services, data management, applications, and AI. We consolidate a highly fragmented market through strategic investments and M&A, having completed 8 acquisition deals in the past year.
The Role
As a Financial Analyst / Controller, you will work closely with our CFO and finance team to support strategic decision‑making through insightful financial analysis and reporting. Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes for the Group and its subsidiaries
- Preparing management reports, financial forecasts, and variance analyses
- Assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning
- Monitoring KPIs and performing business performance analysis across portfolio companies
- Collaborating with business units to collect financial inputs and ensure data accuracy
- Supporting M&A processes, due diligence activities, and investment analysis
- Contributing to the optimization of controlling processes and tools
- Designing and implementing integrated reporting and controlling tools across companies
- Participating in the financial consolidation of the Group
Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred in Economics, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree with relevant accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, Certified Bookkeeper) also considered
- 3–4+ years of experience in financial analysis, controlling, audit, or FP&A
- Strong knowledge of accounting processes, general ledger structure, and bookkeeping practices
- Hands‑on experience with accounting software, ERP systems, BI platforms, and cash‑flow management tools
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent Excel/financial modeling skills
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Preferably experience with integrated financial systems (CRM, job management, accounting, cash‑flow platforms)
- Fluent in English and Italian (spoken and written)
