HR Director Europe (Full-time)

Do you want to write the next chapter of HR leadership in the European region and deliver high-quality HR services across Europe? As HR Director, you will guide the organization through transformation processes and lead a team of seven professionals in various countries.

We are hiring an HR Director for Europe who will translate global strategies into locally actionable plans. You will also support our organization by providing excellent HR services across Europe and driving continuous improvement.

You will manage the entire HR cycle: recruitment, employee relations, compliance, collaboration with the Works Council, payroll, and global HR projects. You will serve as a trusted liaison between our Chinese headquarters and the European teams, fostering a positive and effective working climate.

As HR Director Europe, you will report directly to the HR Vice President in China. You will lead a team of seven colleagues in Europe and manage the European HR Shared Service Center (HR SSC). You promote collaboration and transparent communication within our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Europe-focused HR strategies aligned with the global roadmap and regional business objectives
  • Act as a communication bridge between headquarters and European teams, collaborating with leadership and providing HR analysis for strategic decisions
  • Lead headcount planning to meet annual business targets
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment across departments, ensuring compliance with global standards and local regulations
  • Drive leadership development and succession planning for key roles, and lead the European HR team

Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Handle complex employee relations issues and ensure compliance with EU labor laws, GDPR, and local regulations
  • Oversee employment contracts, visas, and cross-border labor mobility to mitigate legal risks

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in human resources, including at least 8 years in leadership roles (HR Manager/Senior HR Manager/HR Director)
  • Proven experience in multinational enterprises and supporting Chinese companies in their international expansion
  • Experience with HR systems in Europe and cross-border HR structures is preferred

Skills

  • Fluent in English, and Chinese proficiency is preferred
  • Deep understanding of workplace environments and cultural characteristics in both Europe and China
  • Strong strategic thinking, cross-cultural communication, and global team leadership skills
