Employment Details

  • Employment Type: Full‑time (35 hours a week)
  • Duration: Fixed Term until 30th June 2027 (possible extension, funding dependant)
  • Remuneration: $155K – $178K base, depending on experience (+ 17% superannuation and leave loading)
  • Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia.
  • Location: Health Translation Hub, Randwick, NSW

About NCCRED

The National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED) is a national research centre for methamphetamine and emerging drugs of concern that embeds research in clinical practice. It aims to support clinicians to detect and respond to new drug health problems by building clinical research capacity and rapidly translating findings into clinical practice.

Role Overview

The Senior Research Fellow is a leadership role at NCCRED within the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The Fellow will develop and lead research and translational outputs, undertake independent research in clinical, community or digital interventions focusing on methamphetamine and emerging drugs, and report to the Director of NCCRED. The position has 1–4 direct reports.

Key Skills Required

  • A PhD in medicine, public health, or related field, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with disciplinary knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with high‑quality, high‑impact outcomes and a desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence, as well as capacity for research leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
