Software Developement Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Software Development Engineer to join our R&D team, engaging with promising market opportunities in Italy and abroad. Your role will involve designing, developing, and improving our smart grid platform in collaboration with business development and field teams to generate performance improvements for our customers.

If you have a passion for renewable energy, technology, and deep knowledge and interest in software design—especially within the fast-paced, energetic smart-grid ecosystem—then this is the role for you. You will work with your design team colleagues on projects such as hardware bring-up, software testing, and system design. Your main responsibility will be the design and development of software architecture to meet customer requirements, from conceptual prototypes to full, tested releases.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business development and marketing to define new platform goals related to specific market opportunities;
• Lead project teams, coordinating team members and suppliers to ensure schedules are met;
• Design new software and firmware architectures and define requirements;
• Develop using procedural or object-oriented design methods;
• Write source code, technical designs, and functional documentation;
• Develop drivers, protocols, applications, algorithms, and BSPs using OS-based or lightweight architectures;
• Architect, design, and deliver system software based on platform requirements.

Basic Requirements

• Experience in Software Development;
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills;
• Knowledge of debugging and code instrumentation;
• Understanding of data acquisition, storage, integrity, and formatting;
• Experience with customization, bug tracking, and revision control;
• Experience working with Windows and optionally Linux operating systems;
• Front-End and Back-End development expertise.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior experience in a similar role and environment;
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Software Engineering;
• Experience working with startup organizations;
• An interest in technology, renewable energy, and startups;
• Keen to knowledge of additional programming languages.
